about the author

Mr. O’Regan’s writing career began in early middle school, when he started an underground newspaper, The Principal Report, which focused on the unseemly activities of his school’s leader, Mr. Mallon, who, the paper reported, spent his weekends selling stolen deodorant sprays at a local flea market. When the charges against Mr. Mallon were proven unfounded, The Principal Report was stripped of its Pulitzer and Mr. O’Regan sought sanctuary in his hometown of New Orleans where he wrote speeches for local politicians running for office.

When the local politicians simply started writing checks to win elections, O’Regan’s career evaporated, and he moved to San Antonio. After a dozen years writing for the banking and insurance industries, decided he wanted to write comedic mysteries—which unlike his corporate material, were supposed to be funny and entertaining.

For Whom the Curtain Calls is his first full-length novel and represents a pleasant hybrid of the character-driven stories of his youth and the irreverent humor of a lifetime.

By some stroke of luck, Mr. O’Regan earned a Master’s Degree in Communications from The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. He also acquired (possibly in a poker game) a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from The University of Texas – San Antonio.

He still lives in south Texas with his wife, his kids, a cat, and a Welsh dog with an Irish name born on Australia day. He is currently working on a follow up novel to For Whom the Curtain Calls, as well as a ridiculous website full of historical fabrications about himself.
